Members of the Town & River Cruise Club welcomed the first day of 2019 with a New Year’s Day brunch. Held at the condominium clubhouse, the party included 26 attendees who enjoyed Bloody Marys and Mimosas served up by bartender Bill Habershaw. The potluck menu included appetizers, delicious breakfast casseroles, ham, salads, and an array of desserts.
We all enjoyed a visit by two dolphins and a manatee in the canal behind the clubhouse. It’s good to know that some of our aquatic friends have survived the red tide and green slime of 2018.
Matt Shultz won the 50/50 raffle. Cecilia Bourdon led the group in the club’s traditional Yankee Swap in which recycled gifts from past holidays that are no longer needed were exchanged for others. Some of the gifts re-appear every year, much to the amusement of all.
